The Women's NCAA March Madness Tournament kicked off in style thanks to this colorful and exciting promo! When our friends at ESPN and Winter Films decided to use virtual set extensions on set, they turned to our team at PDS to help craft a beautiful graphics package that could not only work effectively on the LED volume walls featured in the spot but also work as elements across the broadcast campaign. The turnaround time was time but our team was up for the challenge! Leaning into the aesthetic of studio lighting, we created a visual toolkit of media that felt like vast environments of basketball inspired imagery and blended seamlessly with the practical lights featured on camera. Everything blended so well, no keying or compositing was needed to give the feeling of the beautiful and practical set.

PROCESS

Pre-visualization of the media on the LED volume walls helped the various production teams prepare for a very limited on set time with talent.
